Hello Team,
I am using Helical Insight version 5.2.2 Enterprise version. At the report level the data is different but in the dashboard the data looks different. Why this is happening?
Hello Netta,
In order to cross validate, add the report in fresh new dashboard. It should not have any other panels created or should not be an edit. Refresh the dashboard designer page and create an absolutely fresh dashboard.
When we added that report panel in a fresh new dashboard it is showing correct data.
Hence in your current dashboard there are some other panels with whom it is sharing the filter label and that filter is getting passed here.
In dashboard designer, we can have multiple panels and those each of those reports can have filters. If the filter labels of 2 or more reports are same at the dashboard level, then the value of FilterLabel from the first added report to the dashboard will also get passed to the other panels. Similarly, if you enable filters on the UI, any value selected from filter all the reports of that dashboard which are having that filter label will be able to listen to it and respond back.
In your case in your dashboard you have “Closed Actions” and “Overdue Actions” as 2 cards. We can see that both of them have same kind of filters and having the same filter labels also. Especially Stage filter. What you want is that ideally “Closed Actions” should have Stage value as Action Completion and “Overdue Actions” report should have Stage filter value as Closed.
You added Closed Actions first and then Overdue Actions. So the value of Stage filter in the dashboard got picked up from Closed Actions stage filter value (as both the reports are having the same filter label called as Stage).
Hence, in case if multiple panels of the dashboard are sharing the same filter and each panel you want to have different different values of that filter, then those filter at the report level should have different filter labels.
If I manually add that Stage filter and set its value to “Action Completion” it is showing 21 value. But in that case the Closed Actions card is also getting Stage value as “Action Completion” but you want to pass “Closed” value to that card.
For now “Overdue Actions” report I have opened in edit mode and for that Stage filter label I have given it a name as “Stage1” (a different filter label)
And now the dashboard data is matching the report.
Thank You,
Helical Insight Team.
