Hi Team,
I want to connect to a CSV/Excel file as my data source.
Kindly help to achieve that.
I not able to find right help document.
Hi Mahip,
We are about to launch Helical Insight 3.0 which will allow you to connect to CSV (as well as other flat files and big data sources like Mongo) from frontend itself. If you would like you can get in touch with us at support@helicalinsight.com to get a preview of the newer release as well as early access to try it.
Meanwhile for the current version, in order to use CSV, there are two options available.
a. You can either upload the CSV into a database and then can use that specific database at the frontend for reporting purposes.
b. You can refer to the below link to understand how you can directly use CSV in version 2.1 for reporting purposes.
Kindly reach back in case of any more questions.
Thankyou
Hi.
With the version 3.0 we are supporting CSV and Excel directly as a datasource. Please refer to the below links on how to do the same.

NOTE: From version 5.2.2 of Open Source BI Helical Insight, we have provided DIRECT inbuilt support to Excel and CSV as a datasource. This method is much more simpler to use and recommended.
