Getting started as a newbie

Dear friends,

im pretty much a newbie and trying to get myself started with HI. Unfortunately I dont even manage to run it in my browser after installation. Maybe anyone can help me with this?

I have done the following:

  • Installed JRE 1.8.0
  • Installed JDK 1.8.0
  • Set the Variable JAVA_HOME
  • Run the hi.jar-Installation with standard configuration
  • Opened the browser on URL: http://localhost:8085/hi-ee

Unfortunately at that point I am getting a caonnection failed error
Any clues about this ?

Hi Matt,
Can you share the Catalina logs in order for us to understand what went wrong and provide the required troubleshooting steps.
The path for the logs is something like
“C:\Program Files\Helical Insight\hi\apache-tomcat-7\logs”
It might be different in your case based on a different OS as well.
